Addison and Amy are on their way to the official Ball ... and I'm off to bed.
But before I turn in, two more pictures to post (as a toast!) to the Teague Family blog tonight. I love this shot of both Addison and Amy. They both look fabulous.
This last one we captured while watching the broadcast. Kristen noticed that the camera was right behind Addison and Amy's head as they were listening to the final award of the night.
Again ... we're so proud of you! Have fun at the parties tonight!!

Oscar Viewing Party & Games Prep
Miles filling out his Oscar picks.
Emery helped me shop at the Dollar Store for prizes, and I liked her pick for a Sound Editing prize: the clapper.
A letter to my brother, the Academy Award Nominee
Dear Addison:
About twenty years ago, as you watched the Academy Awards on television, you turned to mom and said "I'm going to be there some day."
You've "been there before" ... in attendance with colleagues ... but not like today. TODAY is really that day. A celebration of your first official nomination, representing two decades of hard work. Professional work done the right way, without compromise of who you are as a collaborator or your personal standards for being an amazing husband and father.
Enjoy this moment, Addison. Your "first Academy Award nomination" will never happen again. Your family is so proud of you.
Love,
Brayer

Different kind of birthday presents ...
Earlier this year Emery asked us if - in lieu of presents - she could ask the children attending her party to bring donations to PADS (the homeless shelter where our family has volunteered in the past) . Kristen and I were really proud of her for thinking in this way, and Emery proud of the outcome. Nearly $150 in gift cards that can be given to shelter residents to purchase basic supplies, as well as a pile of canned goods and hygiene supplies were collected at the party this afternoon.
Way to go Emery!

Miles - Ball Boy @ NU vs. Iowa
Miles and I had a terrific time in Evanston tonight at the NU vs. Iowa basketball game. Miles worked the game as one of the ball-boys, and was stationed right in front of the NU student section, pep-band, and worked the 'shoot arounds' for the Wildcats.
NU beat Iowa in a close game that came down to the last few seconds. Nice to end the evening on that positive note. Following the game Miles got to meet Big 10 star point-guard Michael 'Juice' Thompson, who signed his shirt for him.
I think saying he had a great time would be an extreme understatement. Lots of fun for 'dad' to see his son enjoying this too.

He shoots ... he scores!
Miles has had a great weekend of sports. His two 3-point range buckets yesterday and a goal scored in today's very exciting 4-3 Floor Hockey win.
Two '3 pointers' This Weekend
Miles drained two long shots in Saturday's basketball game. Kristen, who was discovering the video camera on her phone, happened to catch this one.
Great shooting Miles!

Super Sunday ...
... included ice damming and two leaks in my roof, a flat tire, and Emery getting in our bed last night and proceeding to vomit on me.
Good times!
