Today our family took a trip to the North Pole on the Polar Express train. Click here for pictures from our journey. We had a great time. The train picked us up in Downers Grove. A story-teller read The Polar Express aloud on the train car, and we were served cookies and chocolate milk. We followed the story in our own book. Carolers greeted us at the North Pole (which Santa apparently also uses as the Aurora, IL train station), and all the children had the chance to see Santa for a few minutes.
On the way home we sang Christmas songs together, and Mr. and Mrs. Clause visited us on our train car. And I almost forgot: Miles and Emery both were given a bell that represented the "first gift of Christmas."
