We slept in a little bit this morning. After breakfast Reimund and I went to the Musikschule one last time where I had the chance to watch Steffi working with elementary school children on an upcoming spring musical presentation in which they will tell the story of Hansel and Gretel. I loved seeing the integration of the piano students, the recorder students, and the choir.
For lunch today we enjoyed traditional German sour kraut, and bratwurst. Then to the game in Stuttgart (see post below). Tonight I took Reimund, Steffi and Bastian to dinner at a Greek restaurant that is one of their favorites. We laughed a lot, enjoyed some wonderful food, and reflected on a great week. Leaving tomorrow will be sad, but is tempered by the fact that I will see them again in just seven weeks, when the band visits Downers Grove.
And ... I must say ... I miss Kristen, Miles and Emery. As I type this they are headed back to Downers Grove from St. Louis. I can hardly wait to see them again.
Finally ... I want to point out that Reimund wore the Northwestern shirt that I gave him to the game today, which you can see in the picture above.
That's it from Germany. Next post will be from home.
