I finally finished the drywall in our little basement project, and today it was time to "prime" the walls for the paint. Miles asked me if he could help. At first I politely said, "no thank you." But then I remembered that Home Depot commercial where the little boy asks his dad if he can help him as he's fixing the kitchen sink ... and dad says no ... and boy has hurt feelings ... and then dad finds a way to include the boy ... and boy is happy ... and then the strings swell and the music is joyous, and dad and son have a wonderful bonding moment together ... and all is right with the world. So I then said, "yes."
Reflecting on that commercial a little further, I don't remember the part where dad had to scrub primer out of his son's hair as he leans over a sink ...
