Antidote: Water Park

In an attempt to make up for being complete couch potatoes yesterday, Miles and I headed to an indoor water park today, called Ko-Ko Cove. We had a terrific time. Lots of fun. Lots of slides. Lots of basketball. Lots of "dunks" all around.

For lunch we left the park and drove over to the Rain Forest Cafe at Woodfield Mall. Miles had been to a Rain Forest Cafe before ... but to my surprise he didn't seem to remember it at all. I remember last time he was so little he was scared of the animal sounds, the rain, the flashing lights, etc. Today he totally loved it.

As we were walking out of the mall to go back to the water park, he caught me off guard by requesting that I give him directions back to the car using the terms "square," "left rhombus," and "right rhombus." In other words, if I wanted him to walk straight, I should call out the word "square." If I wanted him to veer to the right, he wanted me to say "right rhombus" ... and then he would begin to walk diagonally to the right. I didn't know he even knew what a rhombus was! (Technically, I don't think all sides of these parallelograms were equal ... but I let it go!) It was really funny.
