We went bike shopping for Emery this past weekend, and she is very proud of her new wheels. She's two months shy of the age that Miles was when he wanted to take off the training wheels. She's not ready for that yet, and I'm glad ... because we ended up buying a larger bike than what Miles currently has. She's so tall for her age that we decided (with the help of folks at the bike store) to go with the 20" bike now so we are not (hopefully) buying another bike in a year. But the bike just seems a little big for her right now.
She has enjoyed riding it nonetheless. She is especially excited about the basket, and the ability to take a book with her on bike rides. I've learned this is very important!
