Indian Princess Initiation

Last Sunday night was Emery's "Indian Princess initiation ceremony." This is a program run by the local YMCA and is designed for fathers and daughters who want to spend time with one another. The girls must be at least 5 years old, and they can participate up through the age
of 10.

Emery is very excited about this program (it's a big deal in Downers Grove). She has selected "Daylily" as her Indian name. Me? I'm "Lightning Blogger" ... a name developed by committee one night when we were having dinner with the Williams.

Tomorrow morning Emery and I are off (at 6:30 AM!) to our first over-night camp out with the "tribe." We're headed about 2.5 hours away, into Indiana, and will be staying in a cabin with about 30 other girls and their dads. I've been told to bring ear plugs if I want to get any sleep. We will return on Sunday afternoon.
