Late this afternoon we stopped in Shelburne Falls, MA, and had an absolutely wonderful visit with my Father's sister (my Aunt Laura) and her husband (my Uncle Ken). It had been nearly twenty-five years since I had seen them (how in the world did we let that happen?!) so it was wonderful to catch up, as well as introduce them to my family.
After a tasty dinner at a very nice local restaurant, we had a chance to walk around town and see both the famous Bridge of Flowers, as well as ancient glacier pot holes.
Later we joined Aunt Laura and Uncle Ken at their home for some additional visiting. The kids loved the tire swing, but my favorite moment was watching Aunt Laura share with Emery childhood pictures of her great-grandmother ... Louise Emery.
It was really a wonderful evening of family, and a real highlight of our trip out east.
