"Do, or do not. There is no try." - Yoda

Well, the words of the great Master Yoda must have proved inspiring to Miles. He did it. I cannot believe how focused he was. And believe it or not, he never seemed to be in 'zombie' mode. He was constantly asking me questions, and/or sharing his impressions of events.

Way to go kido ...

Tomorrow Miles and I are off to an indoor water park to remember how to be physically active.

Episode VI

“You’re all clear, kid! Now let’s blow this thing and go home!”

11 hours and 27 minutes into our marathon, we've just started Episode VI. My head feels like the death star when it exploded. Miles, on the other hand, is in 7-year old heaven.

Episode food/dinner: Last night, when we went to the store and Miles picked out his six foods for today, he picked "stuff that looks like lightsabers" for Episode VI. Actually, he picked the mac & cheese, and the Cheetos. I added the carrots.

I think we're actually going to make it to the end ...

Episode V

It's after 4 PM ... and we are clearly insane.

Episode snack: Miles picked ice-cream for this episode, since it begins on the "Ice Planet of Hoth." Points for connections, I guess.

“Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.” Miles is not to be derailed. (I've been trying ...)

Episode IV

Now on to the original Trilogy. I can't believe we've already been at this for seven-plus hours.

"Stay on target ... stay ... on ... tar - get!"

Episode IV treat: Nachos with cheese.

No signs of Miles giving in.

Episode III

We are now into our third movie. Makes me think of that famous line that's in every Star Wars movie:

"I've got a bad feeling about this ..."

Episode III food treat: warm M&M cookies with milk.

Miles is still, at this point, undeterred. I suggested we could watch "Barbie Island Princess" after Episode II, but he would have nothing to do with the idea.

Episode II

One down; five to go. We're now watching "Attack of the Clones."

Episode II food: Popcorn

"The Force is strong with this one ..."

Episode I

Miles woke me at 6:50 AM. You would have thought it was Christmas morning he is so excited. We began at 7:01.

Episode I food: Blueberry Muffins

May the force be with us ...

Star Wars Marathon on tap for tomorrow ...

Well, I don't know if it's 'good parenting' or a reason for DCFS to pay a visit to our house ... but my 7 year old son is sure excited about tomorrow ... and our attempt at a 'Star Wars Marathon.' Truthfully, I'm not very confident we will really make it through all six. Then again, when Miles sets his mind to something ...
