After checking into our hotel we headed to Victoria Station (just a block away) to buy our Oyster Cards for the Tube ... and just for fun we let Miles calculate a route to Marble Arch so he could demonstrate how to use his Tube app to navigate this week.
We next headed to the Changing of the Guard, and positioned ourselves well to get some great close-up views. This was where it pays to have been here several times before and use the 'tricks' of the better tour guides to see the most.
Following the 'change' we walked down the Mall and eventually to Trafalger Square.
Lunch at a Pub near by ...
... and then up toward Regents St. and Hamleys. It's hard to describe Hamleys Toy Store as anything other than slightly overwhelming.
We had hoped to make one more afternoon stop ... just to keep the kids awake a bit longer ... but ultimately decided we needed some rest.
Great start. Super tired.
