Day 4 - Harry Potter, Saint Paul's & War Horse

Our tour to the Warner Bros. "Making of Harry Potter" Studio Tour was indeed all we could have expected ... and probably more. I dare say it was good to have left this to our last day in London as just about anything else might pale in comparison. Of special note was the opportunity to walk through many of the sets and to also do some "green screen" video and still photography. It was certainly a trip highlight for all of us.

Having said that, our late afternoon and evening also included some great fun. I took Miles back to Saint Paul's - at his urging - because he really wanted to climb the steps to the top of the dome, and we had arrived too late in the day on our previous visits to that area. While Kristen and Emery opted to rest a bit at the hotel, Miles and I made the journey by Tube back to the cathedral.

At 5 pm we all converged on Covent Garden and met at a French restaurant for a pre-show dinner.

And our last 'event' in London was seeing War Horse, a show I have been wanting to see for years. I loved it. Kristen liked parts of it, and was polite enough to not share openly any other opinions. We both agreed it was a tad longer than it needed to be. Much of the spoken word (with heavy German, British and French accents) was hard for
Emery to understand, but I think she was captivated by the special
effects and puppetry. Miles seemed to be genuinely moved by the story of the horse, and the boy, and like many in the audience shed some tears at the end as he worked to process it. All in all Kristen and I agreed we were really glad we were able to expose Miles and Emery to theatre like this during the trip.

Way too many good pictures from today to post in one blog post. When I get back home maybe I can remember to create a Google album of all the Harry Potter pictures. For tonight, just some highlights.
