First Communion / 125th Birthday

Today was the 125th Birthday of our church, St. Andrew's. Lots of activity, including three baptisms - and "first communions" for about twenty K-3rd graders. Emery and Miles both attended communion classes the last several Wednesday nights, and had their first 'official' communions this morning.

I snapped a picture of them with the Bishop of Chicago after the  service. Doing so made me remember that I had an old picture of me  with the Bishop ... which I believe was taken at my Confirmation. But  I include it here for a laugh.

The Church Lady's Flock

Kudos to Kristen for coordinating this morning's Church School involvement in the liturgy.  She can be seen here shepherding flocks of cows, bunnies, goats, and other miscellaneous farm animals.

Today at church Emery performed "Rise and Shine" with the pre-school children, and Miles sang for the first time with the Children's Choir.
