Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Book

Miles was given the first "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book while we were in Columbia, and he read it ALL THE WAY HOME.  Then, with only 10 pages to go, he took it with him on the train to Chicago yesterday.  Really fun to see him reading so much.

Today we finished the second Harry Potter book (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets).  Miles and Emery are already clamoring to begin the third installment!

" - every child in our world will know his name!"

I think I am one of the few middle aged adults that has not either 1) read the Harry Potter series, or 2) have children who have. Tonight, I have embarked upon a goal/journey to rectify both.

Miles, Emery, Kristen (a repeat customer), and I read Book 1, Chapter 1. I was struck by a quote near the end of the first chapter by Professor McGonagall. She says, "He'll be famous - a legend - I wouldn't be surprised if today was known as Harry Potter day in the future - there will be books written about Harry - every child in our world will know his name!"

This Muggle believes this has the potential to be fun ...
